Bane is a eng:Zionite who gets taken over by Agent eng:Smith when trying to bring a message from the eng:Oracle to eng:Neo. After being posessed, he starts to mutilate himself and tries to kill Neo and eng:Trinity.
Bane is portrayed by the Australian actor, Ian Bliss. Also seen in the Australian Tv show, Water Rats.
