The Matrix

"The Matrix" (1999) is the first film of the Matrix Trilogy.

The Matrix is a computer generated dream world, designed by the machines to keep human beings under control in order to transform them into batteries.

The Matrix is a computer generated simulation of the world as it was in the nineties (approx. 1999). Via a direct connection to the neural system of human bodies (through plugs) they can interact in this fake world while in the real world they are lying in a cocoon.

The Matrix was created by the Architect.

The Matrix has been redesigned many times. The first versions failed, and an intuitive program was created to find a solution. This program is believed to be the Oracle. She found out the problem was choice, so humans were allowed to have free-will inside the Matrix to keep it from crashing.
